Mountain Wind Private Classes--International Healing Tao
The following meditation and chi kung practices have been passed down by Taoist master Mantak Chia. These simple practices provide a powerful introduction to the teachings of Taoism, with regard to both health and spiritual growth. Though Mountain wind offers no public Healing Tao classes in San Francisco right now, we would happy to teach these classes through weekend workshops and short retreats in other locations. Through the Inner Smile and Six Healing Sounds meditations you will learn how to get in touch with your organs and glands, cool and detoxify them, and reduce stress and tension. You will also learn how to transform your negative emotions and energies into your own creative life-force (Chi). Through the Microcosmic Orbit meditation, you will learn how to open, cleanse, and purify the main energy centers and pathways of your body. You will also learn how to connect with and absorb the universal, cosmic, and earth forces, combine them with your own life-force, and circulate the resulting energy throughout your organism not only for increased vitality and awareness, but also for greater emotional well-being and spiritual growth.
Through the standing postures, muscle locks, and breathing techniques of Iron Shirt Chi Kung 1, a kind of internal aerobics, you will learn how to sense your own internal structure and to be better rooted to the earth. Over time, as your internal power grows, your bones, tendons, fasciae, and vital organs will be strengthened, your energy will begin to flow more freely, and you will have the sensation of being increasingly grounded and centered in the midst of the activities of your everyday life.
In this short, powerful form of Tai Chi, called Tai Chi Chi Kung 1, you will become increasingly aware of the relationship between your internal structure and your outer movements. You will learn more-efficient, better-integrated ways of moving in relation to gravity and the earth, relying more on chi power and less on muscle power. As you begin to move more authentically in relation to the force of gravity, propelled by the earth itself, you will become more finely attuned to your inner and outer worlds and begin to experience the meaning of "meditation in action."
